Dear Father:-

My Dear Sister:
I received your latest letter today and I am answering it at once because my address is changed. The 25th reserve is no more. It united with the 4th which is also a western Ont. Unit. My address is No 7 Coy, 4th reserve. I wrote to Dolly the other day giving her my new address but I told her that it was No 8 Coy. 7 is correct. Not hearing from me for three weeks is nothing at Christmas time it was five weeks before I got a letter from you. I will be...

Two drafts have already been picked out this week and it is only Wednesday. They are only small ones. The change has made very little difference to we are still all together in the same Coy., have the same huts but have another Colonel. Ours is now second in command. These cards are pictures of well known places in London. The Tate gallery and the Marble Arch I have not been to. But Trafalgar Square I have been in also the National gallery and St. Martin's Church...

finest pictures in the world are in this gallery. Many of Turner's, Rembrant's, Renolds, Lanseers and others. The church is a very old one. I was only in it for a minute as there was a service on at the time. We have been having very nice weather here. It is raining hard just now though
So Stuart and George Whitelaw are called up. Well I guess they will soon be over here. I am sorry for them. They have no pleasant life before them. They will have a hard time...

then taken the train back to Rawcliffe but I did not to show up in the middle of the night so got off at Thorne. I find him in good health and fairly good circumstances. There is no brickyard here now some 20 years ago or so some Liverpool men leased the land for 999 years and turned it into a sugar mill. The mill did not pay and has not been running for years. He was made caretaker of it and lives on the place. He has a few chickens 2 cows and 2 heifers,...

but he did quite a number of years ago. His wife is quite fat, she has no children, but she thinks lots of his. They are all married three of his boys are in the army, one a sailor, and a prisoner of war in Germany, three of his son-in-laws are soldiers. The family is well represented in the army. I find he and his wife quite nice, and happy. He goes preaching all over the country. Then he rides a bicycle. Rawcliffe has changed a great deal since you...
