Dennis, Wellington Murray and Margaret Munro

Wellington Murray Dennis, born April 10, 1894, was originally from Stratford, Ontario but moved west to Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Moose Jaw in April, 1916. His attestation papers indicate that he was an implement dealer. Murray Dennis served in France with the 5th Bn. Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) and was killed in action August 9, 1918. He is buried in the Manitoba Cemetery in Caix, France, a village captured by the Canadians August 8, 1918. Margaret Munro was from Stratford, Ontario. She and Murray were engaged to be married at the time of his enlistment. The collection consists of more than thirty letters, as well as postcards and photographs. The letters are those from Murray to Margaret as well as letters of condolence to Margaret following Murray's death.
