Dear Mr. Bohan

No doubt by now you have receive the unfortunate news about your son.
As his platoon officer I would like to express the sincere sympathy of both the entire platoon and myself.
"Bo", as he was often called by his friends, was as good a section leader as anyone could have asked for and commanded the respect of all those in his section, who had every faith and confidence in him as their leader.
The only real comfort that I can give you that he did not suffer at all, and that he was buried by his own friends in a valley close to the sea yesterday. You will be told of the exact location in the future.
One of his close friends out here, Cpt. Johnny Kalviuoska is also writing in a short time.

With sincere sympathy,

J.H.F. Mara
