Dear Friends.
Well Mrs Johns I ought to be ashamed of my self for not writing you oftener, of course I have wrote to you several times since I was wounded. But I know that it is quit(e) a while since I last wrote you I am not sure wether I thanked you for your Xmas box or not if I haven't please excuse me, as my memery is somewhat effected since I got wounded. I have such a job to remember who's letter's I have answered. I received your Xmas box all, OK. And everything was fine. It was kind of you to think of me. But Mrs. Johns I know that you will never forget me. I was away on my leave again week before last. I didn't have as good a time as we had the first time when Earl was with me. Now Mrs Johns I must close wishing you's all good luck & God's blessings

Your friend
