24/7/17 193 Oxford Road Reading Mr. Robertson, Dear Friend, I was indeed very pleased to hear from you regarding the death of my dear husband, Pte. Jack Ellis, Canadians and what little information you were able to give me has been a great comfort both to his dear parents and to me. I am sorry the you were away when he became unconscious but his end was peaceful and without pain. therefore we have great comfort in the knowledge I can only thank you once more for your kind and sympathetic letter-I enclose my Glasgow address and trust that some day in the near future I shall be able to hear from you personally all about him. With best wishes for your welfare and may God bring you safely back to your loved ones. Yours sincerely K. I. Ellis
