May 22 - On the boat all day traveling up the Big Saskatchewan River towards Battleford. Water was high in the river so we had no delays caused by sandbars, such as we had on the South Saskatchewan on the "Northcote".
Had a talk with Col. Williams about my land grant and title to my homestead at Shell River. The crowded boat made close sleeping quarters; found space on lower deck.
