Diary

July 13 - The two missing boats had arrived during the night. The wounded cheerful and doing well. Made a start down Lake Winnipeg at noon; nice and calm, had a glorious sail all afternoon, though all our boats were too crowded. Rations still the usual hardtack and canned corn beef, but it won't be long now before we eat again something different.
