Dear Mom,

I received the certificates, book, snaps, and your letter. Thanks very much for them. I'm glad that you and Dad agree about the engineering course. I'm going to have another talk with the Education Officer before I send a letter and Certificates away for approval.

In your letter you spoke about snow storms. Well, we had a terrific one a few days ago. It must have been related to the one that you had. And, Mom, thank you and Grandma for the very special valentines.

Concerning my skiing, I was doing all right, until I slipped and broke one of my poles. I plodded back to camp, but there were no broken bones. The snow was soft. One fellow broke both his ski poles and one of his skis.

Love, Lewis.
