Dear Mom,

I shall be waiting to see the pictures of Sharon Lee when Aunt Edythe gets them ready.

So Dad finally had his operation. I knew before I 1eft Canada that he had to have it done. He will recover, but it will be difficult for him not to be ab1e to go to work for awhile. You won't run short of funds, will you? The money from teaching sewing in the evening classes will help.

I really enjoyed my leave to Edinburgh. I spent over $70.00, but I sure had a great time. Included in the amount was about $12.00 which I sent to London for the plastic lenses for my glasses.

That reminds me - I hope that you have sent the meta1 parts for my eye g1asses, because I'll need them when the new lenses arrive here.

I sent a pencil drawing of Joyce, made from a photo taken of her and used by an artist in Holland to make a sketch, which was very well done.

I'll write more at a later time.

Love, Lewis
