Dear Mom,

While I was in Edinburgh, Mrs. Borthwick served this dish, which she called "Border Tart", and I really liked it. Maybe you've a1ready made it, but it seemed somewhat different the way she made it, so I asked her for the racipe. How about making one for me when I get home.

"Border Tart"
Make a mixture of: 2 oz. marjarine (you'll use butter)
2 oz. sugar.
2 eggs.
1 teacup raisins.

Cream the margarine and sugar, Beat in the eggs, and add the rasins. Line a pastry tin with flakey pastry, fill in the mixture, decorate the top with strips of pastry. Bake in a moderate oven, for 20 or 30 minutes, or until a light brown.

It sounds simple, and any kind of fruit will do, but it tasted very different from ordinary pie, to me.

I sent to you a sketch of Joyce, by registered mail. Let me know when it arrives. And since I'm collecting stamps again, please get me a set of any new stamps that are issued in Canada.

No news yet as to our future moves, so there is little more to write about.

So long for now, Love, Lewis.
