Dear Mom,

I received a card from Betty when she was on vacation in Blackpool. North England's playground. I also received a letter from Joan( Darlington). I had to apologise for not meeting her on my return trip from Edinburgh, and she said she realized how busy I must have been, and that's why I didn't meet her. However I did see her on the way to Edinburgh.

Today I received some snaps from Joyce, and she was wearing the pendant necklace. Thanks for getting it and the ear-rings and sending them to her.

If you see anything that would make a nice gift for Betty, let me know and I can send some money for it. Could you send me two more souvenir hankies of Glace Bay, one for Betty, and one for Joan. I always seem to be asking you for something. Thanks, Mom.

Love, Lewis.
