The First Day of Spring!

Dear Mom,

Yesterday my name was called on the posting list for home! So by the time you get this I'll be starting on my way back to Canada.

On March 30th, in just nine days time we leave this Station for the Repatriation Depot at Topcliff. I don't know how long we'll be there, but I'm quite sure that by the middle of April, at the latest, I'll be on Canadian soil.

Am I excited? No. not particularly, for I knew I'd be posted one of these days. However, I certainly didn't think it would be until the end of May.

As yet I don't know exactly when we will arrive in Canada, but as soon as I do, I will let you know.

It may be just as well to stop writing letters to me for I will not get them here.

Incidently, It's a beautiful day today, sunny and warm. I'm leaving England just as the weather is perking up.

That's all for now, Love, Lewis.

P. S. I was in to see May last night, and she was disappointedly surprised at my leaving so soon. She doesn't like the idea. L
