Dr. Forbes
Dear Sir

We learnt with deep regret the sad death of your Donald by the enclosed letter to-night. Having corresponded with him since he went in the army I received this letter in answer to my last. I have not written to the Chaplain as I thought it best for you to do so. We would all be very thankful if you would send us the particulars when you learn them concerning his death. I received his likeness in one of his letters to me. When I was down to the review I intended to call at your place but it was not over until nearly dark that I could not come but I left a parcel containing a shirt and collar of Donald's at Mr. Prices at Drummondville to be sent to you. We should be very glad to see you at any time at our place. Give my respects to Mrs. F.

And believe me to
Remain Yours & etc.
