Dear Don Stan & Marguerite

Will write you all in one letter received your letters two days ago three dandy letters Yes Don thoese were dandy cakes you made they looked like rich folks cakes I thought it was something Agnes had been exparamenting on Mother knows how to make fine rich things don't she the parcel was mailed the same day as Freds or I would have known it was Mothers & yours. I am in the 2nd field dressing station for this big boil the core came out yesterday will get in the dentists to morrow for my lower plate. this room has 23 bunks lots of fellows come in and out every day. I may miss a day or two this time. I have been buying some peaches & cakes to eat peaches are 22c a can about corn size I have spent over 250� on eats this last few days & am quite fat. I got paid again this morning so will have a little change for a few days again It was terrable of one not to know your parcel hope Mother writes on all of them after this. Mothers Xmas cakes are the best I have ever ate Joe gave me three of his they did not come up to Mothers. The sun is warming up things here water was running yesterday it is fine just now no mud yet & just a little ice. have been able to read two or three stories lately. I got paper book called life from Freds the other day lots of fun in it Geo's do not write very often I have to put a stamp on for over there have just had dinner a good big one this place has been a great home big rooms & glass houses & grounds big flower beds & horse stables the town is a very longe crooked one

The baby has been something like all the others good when he is asleep at night hope you are keeping better M. do not let Mother get that cough this time. I would like to have seen your Eskimo hut Don You will be making dug outs when I tell you about them in the side of the banks & hills. wish I was starting towards home now but time will tell. I met a man here from out West from Gregsies (Gregries?) Ranch everything is the same as when we were there he is anxious to get back he told me Saley is over a Captain 3rd C O of a Batt has been wounded is in England now. cattle out west are a terrable price now we will have to get a pile of money together & make a start some place if possable Tell Stan will be glad also & that the cake did taste great glad you have fun with your sleighs M got a new pair of shoes. I suppose she is very proud these days. glad Jack
is doing well at school he is very yound boy to be going to school. You M will be busy writing letters & fixing up pepermints dishes & lessons & taking care of Ivan Don did great to get 95 in Arithmetic. this boil hit & spanked enough for any birthday Well Mother your letter was short & sweet. I don't want any jublee from any out sider if I get home. I am getting your letters very good now a little letter every little while is what counts. will be glad to get the comb mine is very small now & get a picture of little Ivan but if it is so cold do not take him out. sorry it has been so cold over there How are our folks you did not say much about them grip will be bad again I suppose take something in time well will close with lots of love & kisses
