Dear Mary

We have just arrived. had to get in everything disinfected. have had a good bath. also M. O inspection. we leave in a few days for the front. I may go to London on Saturday. will go to see the zepp at essex where the 19 men were taken off I am anxious to get out of this rotten country. If Germany had all the world England could not be any worse to make a living in. or any worse for the poor people. this strugle or I don't know what to call it will go on for a number of years. do not know how long it will be before I am with you days again, but take the best of care of your self & always keep the little kidds of any rough people's hands. your letter of the 22nd was great I received Mothers & Freds the same day that made five letters. I will write to Fred to night also. My throat is quite sore & my skin is in bad shape pimples but I think will to soon be better. I did not march I jumped in a wagon which saved one a great deal our last shooting was with gas helmets it is like a bag made out of blanket with glasses and a rubber tube to blow the breath out you tuck the edges down in ure coat it all most strangles but it is just the way you breath in the nose & out the mouth. Well I will go and make my bed the mail is going in five minutes hope you can get a good lady around you this time honey get them in time dear heart
