#1Y Depot Lachine

March 3

Hi Everyone

Just a note to let you know that I'm still alive and kicking, and also to apologize for not having written sooner. I have had had plenty of time, but can never seem to get around to it, but here I am anyway.

We haven't been out hardly at all this week but nevertheless have had a good time on the station with all kinds of shows and dances. Oh, yes. My trip back was quite uneventful. We arrived in Toronto in plenty of time so I made a few phone calls before going aboard. I went right to bed and wakened fifteen minutes before we got to Montreal West so you can imagine the scramble. The train was, if anything, a little early, so I arrived back in Lachine in time for breakfast. The meals have really been good lately, so it has made camp life a little bit more liveable

Wednesday night we-Ray & I were invited to supper to his boss' house. It was really grand-lovely steak and onions, carrots, peas, potatoes, lettuce, celery, olives, a salad, mince pie & coffee-not bad, eh? I guess that was my birthday party. Thursday night we went into town to a show and Friday, well here I am in camp. So I guess that just about a completes everything.

There's a draft going out tonight, but we know who's on it. I'm going to give this letter to one of the fellows in the room who's on it. Here's hoping he doesn't forget it because I'm enclosing that money order I told you about. Well, I'm afraid I've run out of news so will close now. Please write often and perhaps I'll be seein' you. So long for now and take care of yourselves and Skippy

Always love
Bill
