Dear Helen:
Thanks so much for the socks you sent me. I just received your letter saying you had received the silk apron I sent you. I don't know if you will ever have an occasion to wear it but it was all I could afford.
Gee. though, there are some dandy silkwork things over here and they are fairly cheap. (please excuse this scibble as a bunch of the fellows are making an awful row singing songs.)
To-morrow we have our Xmas spread- turkey, plum pudding, ect (sic) Gee, though old kid I hope all us us can have our Xmas dinner home next year.
Aunt Fanny and Ursie sent me a big parcel of good eats. Also I was delighted to get another big parcel from Molly and Trixie Dandy. I haven't heard from Trixie for months although she owed me three letters so I felt amply rewarded by Molly and her nice parcel. I'll write to thank them soon. Meanwhile I wish you would tell her how pleased I was to receive the parcel if you see her, eh?
I hope you wallop those 2 six footers into shape. I would like to give you a hand myself. Write and tell me how the Xmas closing went off will you. Will write again soon.
With love to all,
your loving brother, Sid
