Dear Mother

Just a few lines to let you know I am O.K. and hope this finds you all the same. We have lovely weather as present and it can not continue so too long. I had a letter from Geo[?] Worthy a few days ago. Nothing unusual in it.

I have a bit of news for you this time that I can scarcely believe myself. I was informed a few days ago that I had (along with several other N.C.O.s) been awarded the Military Medal for work we had done on the occasion of the enemy exploding a Mine on our front.

That is about all for [?] [?] so I must close,

Write soon and let me know the latest news,

Goodbye.

Charlie.
