Dear Mother

Just a few lines to let you know I am well and still looking for a letter. I have written two or three since I came here but I have not had an answer yet. I was up to London Sunday it is a fine place to spend time - and money. there is always something to see. I expect to get a few days off and I will go up again so I will have a lot to tell you in the next letter. Nearly everything is closed on Sunday so we had to be content with seeing the outside of everything. We went to the afternoon service in Westminister Abbey it was pretty nice. The building is a fine one although it is so old. There are some fine statues in the squares. Nelson's Monument in Trafalgar square is a beauty. Then there is Whitehall where Charles the second was condemned across the street is the war office and a short distance far the on the Parliament Buildings

Well news is scarce so I must ring off.

Goodbye for the present
