Dear Mother

I received your welcome letter this evening very glad to hear from you. We are having very nice weather now which is quite a change as it has been rather cool all along. Do you know if Dr. Harry Johnson went to the front with the medical Corps. I saw an officer in Folkstone last night who I too to be him.

Night before last a Zeppilon airship (German) came over Dover about twelve miles from here looking for trouble. They got it too. The airship was brought down by gunfire. It dropped a couple of bombs but it did no damage.

British submarines and destroyers chased a German submarine ashore near here a few days ago. I wrote you a letter yesterday telling you about my trip to London but as I think It missed the mail you will get this one at nearly the same time. When I wrote you that letter I said I was sending $150 but I only sent $140 so that is all right. I left my tools at Charlie Bougers so if you want his address this is it 1135 - 12th Ave. W Vancouver. BC.

Yet get

It was so long since I had a letter from you that I wrote the girl in Vancouver and asked her to write you in case my letters went astray so if you hear from he do not be surprised.

We has been pretty busy this week doing Musketry and this afternoon we had an Inspection by Major General Sam Steele.

We news is scarce so I must close. Tell Father I will write soon. and dont worry. Old Kaiser Bill will be sorry he ever started this now before he is through. Our draft is now absorbed
