Dear Mother

I wrote you a letter three or four days ago but as I received one from you yesterday I thought I would answer it as things are pretty quiet today. I received the socks, mitts and muffler but the cake has not arrived yet however I expect it any time now as the Christmas rush must be about over at the Post Office by now Be sure and address everything to France. As long as that is on there they will get here some time. In case my last letter goes astray I will mention that I received the $10 all right So long as the letter is Registered you need not wait to hear from me before sending more.

We are having very mild weather, no snow or frost and it has been fine for a couple of weeks. It is milder than BC and that is saying something.

So you killed old Gyp he must have been pretty old.

Oh while I think if it How is Angus and Mary going on.

Dont worry about my Insurance because in any case it will be paid up all right through the Canadian Pay & Records Office 7 Millbank. London. But I am going to draw that myself in about 15 years time.

Well news is scarce so hoping you are all well I will close.

Goodbye
Charlie
