Dear Mother

Just a few lines to let you know we left New [?] on Saturday morning. We had a great trip through the Rockies. We reached the summit at 8am Sunday morning. We got to Calgary at 11:30am and marched into the city. Were in Winnipeg for ½ an hour this afternoon and are now in Ontario, East of [?]. We will be in Fort William Tuesday at 5am.

If I get the chance to get one I will send a money order to you for $100 & $150 as there is not much use taking so much money to the Old Country. If you need it you are quite welcome to it. In any case I want you to pay my insurance. I think it is due 3rd of July. I was up to see Charlie Bovyer, a couple of days before I came away and he asked to be remembered to father and you. We have just stopped to take on water at Eagle River. 300 miles west of Fort William. We will be there tomorrow morning.

Officers and Sergeants are traveling 1st class (Pullman) and there are only 13 of us in the car you see we are having a great time.

Well this is all for this time.

Goodbye

Charlie
