Dear Mother

Time is going very slow this morning as so I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know I am getting on fine. I get up every day and the wound is healing up fine. I will be able to go down town in a week or so. I will send you a photo as soon as I get my handy bandage off. How is everything looking on the Island this year. I had a letter from Blanche about a week ago. She was getting along fine.

Well news is just as scarce as ever so I must close.

Write soon and let me know all the news.

Goodbye.

Charlie.
