Dear Mother

Just a few lines to let you know that I am O.K. and hope you are the same.

I have a few German souvenirs that I am sending you by a friend. I am enclosing a German shoulder strap and if I can manage it a German smoke helmet.

Things are quiet now and we are having a few days rest.

I am writing this outside and it is raining a little. We had a nice hot bath and clean clothes so I feel pretty good.

Yesterday I had a letter from the Sec'y of the Field Comforts Commission asking about the parcels you sent. They say they had sent them to France but I guess some one down the line wanted it. They also sent me a nice parcel with the letter.

Well news is scarce as usual so I must ring off.

Hoping you are well

I remain
Charlie
