Dear Mother.

I received your welcome letter a few days ago. I did not think it was so long since I wrote last. We have been very busy for the last couple of months. Drill all the time and an N.C.O's class every night from 7.30 to 10 pm. We are on the move from 6.30 a.m. till 10.30 pm. so you see we have not very much spare time. The Colonel of the 6th is taking the next regiment so I must go. After being here so long it would look pretty rotten if I quit now. especially when so many married men are going

We are having pretty nice weather now. no snow for a long time and no frost. I got one or two bundles of papers that you sent. I got a bunch of letters the other day that were nearly 3 months on the way one of them was from Charlottetown too. Where is Blanche McLeod now. I had a letter from her since she went home but have not had any since for a long time.

Well, news is getting very scarce so I will ring off and will try to write oftener.

Goodbye
Charlie
