Dear Mother

Just a few lines to let you know I am well and hope this finds you all the same. We are having very disagreeable weather now. It rains nearly every day.

A few days ago I received a parcel from the McDonald Womens Institute. It was a good one too. Am just sending a line today acknowledging its receipt.
I expect you will receive my medal soon so I would want you to keep it for me.

You want to know if there is anything I want. WellI can always do with sweets as we dont get many here. Have you heard from Blanche lately. I have not. So if you do just tell her she can drop a line once in a while.

Well I must close as news is just as scarce as ever.
