Dear Mother:

Just a few lines to let you know I am very well. As usual there is very little news so this must be a short letter.

I will send you some cards soon again. Will try and get a photo to send you next week. Hope you will get it. I will let you know when I want any socks or mitts. I expect my chum got the parcel as I told him to keep any that came for me.

By the way how is Bob McCannel and Beattie now? Also [Lottie?]. I heard from Blanche a couple of months ago but news is so scarce that I have not replied yet.

Some time ago I was asked to apply for a commission but dont think I will trouble.

Well this is all for the present so I will ring off.

Goodbye.

Charlie.
