Dear Bros:- Char & Wall

Just a line in answer to your most welcome letter at the same time thanking you for your photo you say say you look rough & believe me you do it upset us all to see you look so rough especially Mother & Dad but we [?] are thankful you are[?] to look rough a good uniform & a shave & you would be yourself again. I am glad you got my & Berts picture you ask how many pairs of Riding Breeches I got we are the only infantry Batt that has got the Riding Breeches issued I have got 8 pairs of good one & 2 pair of fatigues breeches you ask me if it is true I had got the other stripe. I guess I shall have to wait as our compy has got the full limit of Srgts so I shall have to wait until ther is a vacancy. I am senior Corp of our Comp well [?] boy I guess our time will soon be here to leave for the [?] [?] Niagara next Thurs of course theres lots of yarns going around. Some say we go overseas in June but I don't think so. I must say we had a good time at Mays wedding. We made old Herbert speechless on the same night you would have laughed. He did look a Dream & to finish him up, Dad gave him one of his old rank pipes to smoke. That finished him I had to carry him upstairs, everything went off fine Everybody had a good time I got A draft leave. Well old boy you say I would have to drop my stripes if I came with you. Don't think 10¢ a Day would hole me back. I might lose them before I get there if things don't go just right I am sure I shall overstay my leave if ever we do get to Eng. not only that you get lots of Bull as a corpl. the only reason I took them was so as we should not have a stranger to obuss us. I see Elvin [?] Peggy has had a bust up with her Mother so they have moved next door to Ernie Cheal. Elvin do look bad. young kid [?] transfered from us to the 95 Batt I hear they sail on the 12 of May he is in the Bugle Band. Well old Boy I don't think there is any more news so I guess I must close Well Fondest Love to you both from your
