Dear Mother & Dad

Well Mother, I suppose this will be the last letter I shall write from here. We are leave here to-morrow for over-seas & this is final. We are going through Winnipeg about seven o'clock to-morrow night & I am going to wire Gladys to meet the train. We spent part of last night in the trenches & had a swell night for it too. We may spend a short time in Halifax doing garrison duty but this is only a rumor & I expect we will be in England all winter if we stay as a unit as we are not a very well drilled battalion. I am going to do my best to carry out your wishes in regards to myself so please don't worry. Well Mother I must get down to the telegraph office before it closes. Hope you are all well. Will write again first opportunity.

Your Loving Son

Roy
