Dearest Mother

Just a line to let you all know I am getting on quite well.

I was wounded on Monday morning again and got to a dressing about noon.
But had to be carried out all afternoon.

Yesterday I was so sleepy that I could hardly keep awake long enough to send you a cable.

My Batman is with me but has not much to do. I am as comfortable as one can be sitting up all the time on one spot.
I forgot to say I was shot thru the R Lung by a machine gun bullet. I am still bleeding a bit inside & outside. They wont let me away from here till this quits.

I shall write you again tomorrow

With Love to all
Yours.
Gordon
