My Dear Mother

For the last two weeks I have been so busy that I have not even tried to write. However, I have not forgotten, so sent a cable off yesterday afternoon that will take the place of the letter that should have arrived on Monday, tomorrow.

Since coming to England I have had nothing but appointments with Air Board, War Office and Medical Boards. Not that it has been so important, but the number of trips, I suppose account for the unimportance of my case. Altogether I am rather fed up with the whole thing and will be glad when it is over. However they have been most considerate in my case and have given me much more than I even asked for so far as leave is concerned. Of course the great difficulty is transportation and if that could be solved I should attempt Canada. But one can never tell.

I have had a good time since coming here, apart from my various appointments. There are so many fellows here from our No. 4 Squadron, as well as the other squadrons, that we have had a very fine time together.

Tomorrow I am going down to Folkestone again, just for a day or two, to get my kit gathered together, then I will come up town again, and see where they want me to go. They may send me to Scotland or almost any place in fact.

I spent the night here with the Jones' and slept in this morning, missing church. I have to meet my C. O. this evening so must be going into town again very soon. He is a very fine chap and will do anything for me that he can. My mail of course is all off since leaving the squadron. Hope all are well. Lots of love for Father, Emily and self.

Loving son
Wilbert.
