April 12/43

Dear Folks -

Hoping this finds all of you well. Received your letter of Mr 31 a couple of days ago. O.K. on sending a parcel, good idea, boys all are receiving them so we all manage nicely.

Suppose Glen will soon be home for the spring, have him mail some cigarettes in about a months time or more, still have plenty for some time, not smoking much lately.

Plenty of snow, ay, April will soon melt it, O.K. on everything said in your letter, sure nice to know whats doing back home & every one

Your a little early about that f/sgt but we should have it soon, promotion comes every six months according to a Canadian Padre who was just through here, we can become 1st class Warrant Officers which is better than a commission, so much for that, everything takes time.

So the February letters finally came through, mail was at a stand still I guess.

Lewis doesn't like Ontario guess he's not around the right kind of gang, I'm in with a gang of Ontario lads & we are having a good time of it so far We have plenty of busy hours flying on coastal command much more to do than bomber but life is longer, not so exciting though
We'll probably start operations next month, have some leave shortly, have seen most places here by now, rather difficult to go to Ireland, so if not posted near there shall not probably see it.

Just got up from sleeping nearly supper time & a nite of boat guard for me tonite, have to guard the planes from gales, etc, not all alone so its no so bad.

Not much more I can tell you, I believe I have already told you of most places of interest in pass letters, about flying, etc.

Gordon probably won't think much of All. Bag, especiially some places for the summer to Vancouver.

Must sign for now I guess this about covers my scope for now

Your son

Claude.
