Diary

July 27 - Gathered up my few belongings and took the train for Peterboro [sic] at 3:45 p.m. Uncle Dunlop was at the train to meet me on my arrival. Auntie and Mary wanted to make sure that I would go to them to stay. Uncle getting pretty deaf so we didn't talk much. After tea all the aunts and their sisters and their cousins came in to see the "Great Hero". Questions galore and the answers galorious got all mixed up. So I went out on the verandah and had a smoke with Josh and Tom. Had the upstairs spare room and had a real sleep.
