My darling girl

Your very welcome letter of 10th also parcel to hand last night, & believe me your parcel was very welcome, right after lunch yesterday I was detailed to locate a bivouac area for our Battn near a certain Area where we are doing working parties, about 8 miles from where we were, located the Area alright, got back to the Battn about 6 PM, at which time they were ready to march off, guided Battn to place chosen arriving there about 9 P.M. shortly after the mail was distributed among them your parcel & believe me I enjoyed that cake & also the rest of the officers in the Cy. I had not had anything from noon until then, so you bet I was some hungry. We are not very far from where poor Dickson was killed & if I have time I intend trying to locate his grave, & also Hodnet's & Seely's. Thanks also dearest for the Batteries they are OK, & if you let me have Blanche's address I will thank her for the socks, the initials you sent for my clothing will also come in very useful. Am glad Gwladys is making herself a favourite, also the two boys Eric & Frank they are certainly a trio to be proud of, but what could you expect with such a mother. I got a letter from Jack last night, will answer it right away & send it on to you, he's a good old pal. Let me know how Eric's hair is getting on, & if there is any sign of growth, I do so hope it will soon be alright again. Well darling no more news this time, am writing to mother, I expect by this she will have paid her visit to you.

Fondest love to you & bairns.

Your loving,

Jim
