My darling girl

Your very welcome letter of 12th to hand OK, also 4 leaved clover which I will certainly keep in a safe place, but cant put it in my watch as there is nothing between the outer case & the works. Glad to hear you sometimes get motor rides it's certainly alright, getting a spin round the country in these days, you Uncle John must be opening his heart lately. And so Eric wants to be a soldier too, if we dont lick the Germans this time good & plenty, he'll certainly have his wish, however I dont think there is any doubt about the issue, I would very much like to get a photo of Frank in his uniform. You ask about the new watch, well its not too bad, stops occasionally have to keep winding it very often, will be glad when my other one is back.

Well dearie we are still in the same place as I wrote you from last, digging trenches etc. There is a Concert party belonging to one of the Scotch Divisions at this place, I went to see them the other night & they were simply immense, they put on a Musical Comedy, all the ladies' parts are taken by men & hang me its hard to tell the difference if we didn't know, am sending you the Programe in a seperate envelope, it certainly was some show. Well dearie have no more news this time. Fondest love to Eric, Gwladys, Frank & your dear sweet self.

Your loving,

Jim
