Aug. 4th, 1915.

Just a year ago today war was declared. It seems hard to believe that I became a real soldier a year ago. And I'm almost a year older now too.

Everything is so quiet here that you could hardly believe there is a war on It has been raining this morning and the air is nice and fresh. I just came back from the waggon lines and must get this off now with a real good one to follow. I'm still O.C. as the Major has been sent to England, sick. I'll write another as soon as I give this to the mail orderly.
