Sunday, Oct.25th.

It has rained almost all day today I took the Battery on church parade and we have service at a point about half a mile away down the road. This afternoon, Pat Lafferty and Vic Tremaine came over to see us and later we returned the call. The Horse Artillery are right opposite to us. Tonight the horses are all cold, wet and restless and we had to double the piquet. Lanterns are scarce also, which makes it a very hard task for the men to look after the horses, as the nights are intensely dark.
