Same Address July 17th 1917 Dear Dad:- Received all the magazines O.K. but unfortunately the mess went west the next afternoon and half of them were "na- pooed". However, one of the fellows is on leave and sent a bunch of books out, also Mrs. Chaleel sent some. I also got the shortbread and Nen's swell parcel. Thanks very much for them as we hadn't had a chocolate for a long time and the shortbread came in handy to take to the O.P. Have been down at the Wagon lines yesterday and most of today but am back at the battery now as I'm on Liaison tonight. Had a very peaceful time at the Wagon Lines and even had a game of cricket. Some punk game but it's much harder to hit the ball than you think. Heard from Des MacMahon yesterday and he has just gone into action a few days ago. We hope to come out for a rest by the end of the month but it's very doubtful! Hope it's true. Must get ready now for Liaison best love to all. Write soon. Bev.
