Dear Mrs. Addison,

This few lines written, perhaps hurriedly, but with a real meaning, are only a small way of saying thanks for the swell parcel sent to me, with your name on the label as sender. This isn’t the first time the “old school” has sent me a parcel, but at Christmas time it means more to a fellow away from home.

It was a swell and very useful box, and at the present rate my mail for Christmas should all be here before time. You may notice the date at present is well ahead of the 25th but like the old cat, curiosity got the better of me. The boys here are all that way and come Christmas we have nothing left with a seal on it. However we do appreciate what you are doing and we thank you and all responsible for your trouble.

My sincere best wishes to you all in 1945.

Yours in appreciation,

Jim Drage.
