Dear Mr Irwin.

Thought I had better let you know I am on my way back to the boys & will be there long before you get this.

I had a Board & was told I was permanently unfit, but I managed to come away with a little persuasion.

Think I have done my bit already, but something made me come again, don’t know why, maybe ‘cause there’s too much fuss this way.

Do not feel any too strong yet, but guess I shall soon come up to the mark.

Hows everything going on at Norwood now?  have not seen a paper since I was hit.

If I get hit again think I shall put in for a leave to Canada, would gladden my eyes to see old Norwood again.

Trust all the folks are well happy Kind regards from yours sincerely

Walter T. Robus

Will write you a long letter from the trench
