My Dear Sister:-

I have half an hour to spend before it is time to go to the evening performance at the theatre. Tonight we are going to see a very nice musical comedy, 'Carminetta'. This afternoon saw a charming revue, they call it entitled "cheep". The main attraction here for me now is the theatres and it's really a treat to see a good show, hear some real music and appreciate the work of an up-to-date actor. Three of us got a three day pass to go to Epsom, just out of London, with the M. G. Cross Country team. We saw them win the championship of the Southern Counties and then came into the "Big Smoke" last night. A little holiday with its accompanying freedom and other privileges [?] much. London is on rations now but we can all get enough to eat. This is a big week here in [?] with the Victory Loan. Trafalgar square is crowded. They have on exhibition an old battle-scarred tank, the aeroplane which made the trip of 752 miles from Turin to London in under eight hours and other war trophies.

The town seems just as lively as ever. There are not so many soldiers as one saw at Xmas, but the Strand is just as crowded, the pretty girls smile just as sweetly and there is just [?] to do and see. Tomorrow forenoon I intend to go to see the much-heralded collection of war pictures which are now on exhibition at the Grafton Galleries. The King was there the other day so I guess it's safe for me to go now. Then in the afternoon another musical 'Chu-Chin-Chow' which is now over its 1500th performance at His Majesty's Theatre. Then back to camp life once more until draft leave which should come at almost any time now as our course has been practically completed. I am not doing much these days as I have every afternoon and Saturday off to train but I hardly expect to make the team for the Can. Championships at Bramshott on the 20th .

Well, must close. Best wishes.

Yours Frank.
