Dear Madam,

I am sorry that owing to my long absence from dear old Toronto, I do not know who the president of the Woman's Alliance is, but I am sure that you will convey my thoughts to the ladies of the Alliance in remembering me at Christmas time and will thank them for the splendid box they sent. It arrived in fine shape and I think the corncob pipe was probably the most precious article in the box for you can't get them in France. I am having a fine time but have not seen anybody from the church.

Hoping you have a successful New Year.

I am
Yours sincerely
