Dear Mother:-

I received your letter dated Aug.3 but there is a Canadian mail today but none for me but all the mail that is addressed to our new address always comes a day or so later than the others. I saw Douglas Laurie the other day and was trying to get up to see him this past week but have not had the opportunity to do so. I also saw E.S. Turner the dame day also Douglas Young and Geo Linett. They are in the 42nd and Turner is a Lieut. Now and has been for the past two months. I saw them passing and walked a little piece with him. He saw Gordon Henry in England when hw was getting his commission. A letter came from Aunt Mabel last week but have not answered it yet but will to-night. These is the first attempt at writing for over a week. I guess it must be nearly two weeks though. Your last letter I answered with a "Whiz Bang". Aunty sent me yoru letter to here of July 29th in which you mentioned about Uncle Harry's grave. Well I went to see abou tit and had them to send it to you so you could give one to [?]. You must have got the letter about it a long…
