Dear Mother:

It has been raining this morning so we did not have any parade so I will write whenever I get the chance now that we are out of the trenches. Yesterday I wrote to both Violet & Grace and will try and write Bruce soon, There hasn't been very much mail lately but there must be a lot laying around someplace for me as I have just had two parcel and one letter since coming to France. We arrived in this town about three days ago but expect to leave soon. I don't know where Art is at present but I suppose I shall run across him sometime again. Perhaps you will have moved to Toronto but the time you receive this letter but I will post it to Jordan just the same Where is Harold Moyer now? Does Uncle Norman still hear from him from Africa? A few days ago we were payed ten francs which is two dollars in Canadian money. It wasn't much but I expect some more soon. I received two parcels of Sunday Worlds from Grace not long ago which I enjoyed very much. Now mother dear be sure and send lots of boxes as it is good to get something from home. I will close now with lots of love to every one at home.

Your loving Son Jay.
