CENTRAL FLYING SCHOOL

Feb. 25, 1941

Dear Dad,

I am now at Central Flying School of the Royal Air Force on an instructor's course.

Although I have well over a thousand hours' service flying in, I will really learn how to fly here. This is the school where they teach of the instructors of the Royal Air Force and they have now loosened the gates and are allowing one naval officer a course for training. I am the first naval officer for three years to come here, so I am very lucky.

By now I suppose you are back from the coast. My couple of leaves before Christmas made my bank balance nil, so I will not have any more leave for some time.

Funny how every time you go to London, one meets some old pals back from the wars and presto a might party is underway!

I have received no letters from home for over a month now but living in hope. In fact I hope some of those cigarettes arrive soon.

Aunt Ida seems to think a lot of Max's wife, but as I haven't got a picture of her I cannot judge myself.

Seems to be a lot of sickness at 1608, but hope everyone is well now.

I feel really fit myself- much better than I did before Christmas.

As usual, I have little or no news to write about. How is the car hanging out? Very pleased to hear that Jean is such a competent driver.

Will look you up in 1945.

Love

Bill
