Dear Emma

Your of Aug 22 to hand today. In future address as follows:

No. 1 Tunneling Co.,
Canadians
B.E.F
France

Copy this exactly. I did not receive a paper for weeks, then 5 came all together. I received a box of plug tobacco done up in a candy box some weeks ago that I thought I had acknowledged. I did not write you at Vancouver as I did not know how long you were staying. I have not heard from Frank, Bessie, or Philip, tho I feel sure I have answered all their letters.

As for Sydney, I saw him after his wound. It is only slight. Last I heard from him he was marked active.

There is real fighting going on now according to the papers and Dame Rumour and we are evidently getting Fritz where we want him. It looks as if the end is in sight now.

Love and kisses to all
