Dear Mom:

Just received your letter thanking me for the flowers I sent. I also got a letter from Fanny & George, & contrary to your belief that they like Rupert & points South they agree that its pretty dead.

We just moved out to our new camp & boy, what a hole it turned out to be. Closest village is four miles & nothing there when you do get there. I'm going to take up a coarse of talking French if it can be arranged. There's not much to say so I'll close now.
