Dear Mom-

With more gratitude that I could ever express in words, I wish to thank you for your generosity in sending me, for my birthday, the watch I received in perfect order. I really need one in my position & can't find words to thank you.

There's not much of any interest to write about as I've been leading a pretty quiet life, of late. Last week we went on a trip to Portsmouth on a sight seeing tour, to see what they were doing. Went through the old battle ship ‘Victory' & where Nelson died & all the bull that does with it.

I go on leave this coming Wed so I ought to have quite a line about all the girls I take out.

I'll be writing a letter to Freda soon to than her for the disk, so thanks again for the watch.

Your son
Nelly
