H.M.S. BELLONA,
C/O G.P.O. LONDON
27/3/45

Dear Shirley,

Just getting settled on down in my new ship (see above). Have a nice cabin which I share with another chappie. Think I'm going to like this ship. Good food, and a nice bunch of Officers to work with.

Swell seeing you again in London but wish I'd been a bit better in the organisation. Maybe next time will be better.

How did your week in Plymouth go? Fairly well, I trust. Did you take in an Officers dance or no?

Well, Shirley, this short letter is sure short. However I'll trust you'll forgive brevity. I'm still sort of straightening myself out and haven't much of interest to talk about. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Lots of luv,

Dave.

Have just heard that I've been appointed to another ship. H.M.S. Glory Therefore my address will be

LT. (E) L.H. CLARK R.C.N.
H.M.S. GLORY
G.P.O. LONDON

Love again
