Dear Mother:-

Received your very welcome letter of March 15th and also one from Dad. He has been up to the battalion and seen Syd and says he was glad to find him well and happy. If I can find his letter I will mail it with this.

Well dear we are having dandy weather just now and it looks to me as if I'm going to have a fine day for my birthday. I can hardly realize that I am twenty years old tomorrow and it will be my second birthday in the army.

The heavy guns are rumbling pretty steady now that the fine weather is on.

Give my congrats to Art and May. I did not know that Art was at Fort William.

Well love to all and be sure and let me have a photo of you all and one of Art and May.

Love

Jack
